3 Days Chimpanzee Tracking / Habituation Experience in Uganda
Day 1: Transfer Kibale Forest National Park
After your morning breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your tour guide and drive in the southern part of Uganda, have en-route lunch in Fort Portal town and then continue to Kibale Forest National Park which is home to over 13 species of the primates including Chimpanzee, golden monkeys and many other primates, the park is in 350 kilometer and takes up to 10hours of driving. Arrival at the park will be in the evening time for dinner and overnight at stay Kyaninga Lodge / Ndali Lodge / Chimp Nest lodge / Mountain of the moon Hotel.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Habituation OR Tracking and Bigodi Swamp
Today we go for either Chimpanzee habituation experience (full day spent with Chimpanzees), or chimpanzee tracking experience that is done either in the morning or after noon depending on availability of space.
After your morning breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to the Park headquarters of Kibale Forest National Park for briefing on the rules and regulations followed while your in the forest with the Chimpanzees, then after penetrate the forest for natural stroll, Kibale Forest is a tropical rainforest and is a home to various wildlife and it is also commonly known for its 13 primates species such as chimpanzees the biggest in any rainforest in African. Kibale Forest hosts over 1450 chimpanzees as well as the rare I’Hoest’s monkeys and East Africa’s biggest population of the red colobus monkeys. Other primates in the Kibale forest includes; the black and white colobus, blue monkey, grey cheeked mangabey, olive baboon, bush baby, red tailed monkey and many other primates. After this wonderful primates tracking activity, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. After lunch in the evening time, you will be transferred to Bigodi wetland, this wetland is near the Kibale Forest, this is a community centered venture to promote eco-tourism, in this wetland you will see a wide range of bird species as well as other animals like apes, monkeys and baboons and after this, you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge as on day 1.
Day 3: Transfer Back to Kampala
After having your breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to the crater lake area region and take a stroll around the area enjoying the excellent landscapes of the place, after that you will drive back to Kampala have lunch en-route in Fort Portal town and the proceed to Kampala for a short city tour and then transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
