16 Days Uganda holiday Tour, Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda
At your arrival in Uganda, you will met and welcome your trip guide at Entebbe International Airport, He will then drive you to Kampala which is just 40km from the airport, dinner and overnight stay at Sheraton Hotel, Serena hotel, Cassia Lodge Busiga, Kampala Lodge, Hotel Africana, Hotel Ruch or Golf Course Apartments among others.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After your morning breakfast at your hotel, at around 7.00am, you will meet your safari guide / driver and transfer to north western Uganda in Murchison Falls National Park, which is in about 380 kilometers from Kampala and it is just a 5-6hours drive. En-route lunch in Masidi town, then continue with the journey to the top of majestic Murchison Falls, this is the point where the extensive River Nile squeezes its self into a narrow gorge of 6m wide, after this long interesting journey, you will proceed to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Red Chilli Rest Camp / Murchison River Lodge / Nile Safari Lodge and Budongo Eco lodge among others.
Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park
A cup of tea or coffee followed by a morning game drive, where you will be able to have a obvious perspective of various wildlife like the big herbivores and carnivores, lion, leopard, elephants, giraffe, buffalo, hartebeest, oribi, warthog, and many other animals in the park, after this great experience, you will transfer back to the lodge for your lunch and unwind as you wait the afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls.
After having lunch at the lodge, relax for some time and then embark on the launch cruise on the River Nile to the bottom of the falls, where you will able to have a clear perspective of various water loving animals such as hippos, crocodiles basting on the sun, you will also see various bird species, the park is home to over 450 bird species, you also anticipate to see the rare shoebill stock, After this boat cruise, you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at your lodge as on day 2.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After your morning breakfast at your lodge, get ready to leave for Kibale Forest National Park which is home to about 13 species of the primates including Chimpanzee, golden monkeys, mangabeys, colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, Blue monkeys and many others, the park is in 350 kilometer and takes up to 8hours of driving. Arrival at the park will be in the evening time for dinner and overnight at stay Kyaninga Lodge / Ndali Lodge / Chimp Nest lodge / Mountain of the moon Hotel / Kibale primate lodge / Kibale safari lodge, Kibale forest camp.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking or Habituation experience
After your morning breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to the Park headquarters of Kibale Forest National Park for briefing on the rules and regulations followed while your in the forest with the Chimpanzees. The trek is half day, done either in morning or afternoon depending on the availability of permits/space.
After lunch, you will be transferred to Bigodi wetland near Kibale Forest, this is a community centered venture to promote eco-tourism, see a wide range of bird species as well as other animals like apes, monkeys and baboons and after this, you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge as on day 4.
Day 6: Crater Lake/ Culture- Queen Elizabeth National Park
After having your breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to the crater lake area region and take a stroll around the area enjoying the excellent landscapes of the place, after that you will drive to the Toro Kingdom Palace where you will be learn about the history of the Kingdom and its citizens, after this historical adventure, you will return back to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon after lunch, you will transfer via Kasese town to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the second biggest national park in the country, report to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Katara Lodge / Bush Lodge / Enganzi lodge / Kyambura game lodge or mweya hostels among others.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning breakfast at the lodge, then go for a memorable game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park to catch up with early risers and predators before they go back to their hideouts. The park is a habitat to over 95 mammal species, an amazing 612 species of birds and many other wildlife animals including elephants, buffalo, waterbuck, warthog, lion, leopard and hyena, after this interesting adventure, you will return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch. After lunch you will enjoy boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, The channel joins Lake George to Lake Edward that provides the park’s prime wild animals spectacles. The shoreline of the channel attracts a big number of bird species, mammals, reptiles and many other animals. Then after, you will transfer back to your Lodge for dinner and over night.
Day 8: Kyambura Gorge, transfer to Bwindi National Park
Breakfast at the lodge, go for wild chimps trekking in Kyambura Gorge, here expect to view some other primates like monkeys, olive baboons, mangabeys, colobus monkeys among other. After this great adventure, you will continue with the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha sector where you can also be able to spot some tree climbing lions in the area.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is commonly known for being the habitat to different wildlife such as 310 species of beautiful butterflies, 51 reptiles, 200 trees, 88 moths and an exceptional 120 types of mammal including 10 primates. The most famous occupants of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are the endangered mountain gorillas. The park protects over 340 mountain gorillas which about half of the world’s remaining population in the wild. After this journey you will check in at Buhoma Lodge / Kitandala Tented Camp / Mahogany springs lodge, Chameleon hill lodge, Nshongi gorilla resort, Buhoma Community Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Heave breakfast, transfer with your packed lunch and water to the headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for briefing before you start this lifetime gorilla trekking adventure. The gorilla trek some time takes 2 – 8 hours depending on their movement while looking for food and shelter, your will have an amazing time with these gentle giants for an hour when you meet them for taking observing, photographing and interacting with these amazing creators, after this lifetime adventure, you will go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as on day 8.
Day 10: Community walk /Batwa Trail /Batwa Experience in Bwindi
Breakfast and go for a guided village walk where you will meet the communities doing their work, visit the local medicine men, the local breweries and the local schools. Alternatively, we can do what they call “The Batwa Trail or Batwa Experience” where we spend full day with the Batwa people, studying about their historical ways of life! Later we depart this wonderful area to Kabale town and proceed for dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi / Heritage Lodge / Bunyonyi Lodge / Acadia Cottages / Bird Nest Resort/ Bunyonyi Overland Resort.
Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi is famously known for being the second deepest lake in African, surrounded by intensely terraced hill slips, Lake Bunyonyi has over 29 islands such as the bushara, Bwama among others. As its name indicates, Lake Bunyonyi, ‘Bunyonyi” actually means small birds in Luganda language, thus being called lake of birds, there are varieties of bird species that have already been recognizes in the area. Early in the morning after having breakfast, you will go for a boat cruise around those 29 islands on the lake, experiencing the picturesque view of the terraced hills and variety of bird species. In afternoon after lunch you may choose to take a guided village walk exploring the communities around the lake, then after return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge as on day 10.
Day 12: Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park
After a fully served breakfast at your lodge, you will get ready to leave the beautiful area of Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, you will have en-route lunch in Mbarara town and the proceed to the park. Lake Mburo National Park, though it’s a relatively a small park as compared to other national parks in the country, it protects a wide range of wildlife such as 68 species of mammals and many other wildlife specie, Lake Mburo National Park is the only park that hosts the impala in the nation and the only one in the rift valley region which provide habitat to a large number of elands and the burchell’s Zebras. You will reach at the park in evening for dinner and overnight stay Mihingo Lodge / Acadia Cottages / Mantana Lodge / Rwonyo Camp.
Day 13: Game drive and boat ride
After morning breakfast at the lodge, you will enjoy a game drive in the eastern part of park. The park is located approximately 240 kilometers by road, west of Kampala, Uganda’s capital and protects a wide variety of wildlife such as zebras, impala, buffaloes, and over three hundred (300) bird species.
After this great game drive in the park, you will return back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon you will embark on boat ride on the lake from Rwonyo camp site, the boat ride will rewarding with a view of different water loving animals like crocodiles, hippos as well as different species of birds around the Lake Mburo including pelicans, heron, fish eagles and if your chance full may also see the rare shoe bill stork, after this adventurous trip, you will go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at your lodge as on day 12.
Day 14: Lake Mburo National Park – Ssese Islands
In the morning after breakfast, you will hit the road and transfer back to Kampala through Masaka town where you will have your lunch. After lunch you will continue with journey to Bukakata landing site where you will board the ferry to Ssese Islands, at your arrival in the evening, you will be transferred to the hotel for relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight at Peral Gardens Hotel / Mirembe Guesthouse.
Day 15: Full day of Relaxation and Beach activities
Have breakfast at the hotel, then after you will spend a full day of relaxation on the beach, Ssese island has got a awesome landscapes and best for beach activities in the country, here you can involve in different beach activities such as beach soccer, beach football, there is also sport fishing which can be arranged by the Hotel directly, so it is upon you to choose what to do here, you may also choose to relax at the hotel and relish the sun bathing at the beach, dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 16: Ssese Island – Kampala / Entebbe
In the morning after breakfast, you will return back to Kampala, make a short city tour where you will visit the Kasubi royal tombs, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine and do last minute shopping then after transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
