5 Days Gorilla Trekking Adventure – Rwanda Uganda Tour
The 5 days Gorilla Trekking adventure in Uganda and Rwanda offers our clients the opportunity of one hour stay closer to the endangered and rare mountain Gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Volcanoes National Park inhabits about 360 mountain gorillas, which is half of the world’s total population of about 700 mountain gorillas.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Home of Gorillas
Breakfast at the hotel, drive to south Western Uganda. Stop at the equator for photographs, continue to Mbarara for en route lunch, reach Bwindi by late afternoon. Relax in the evening or go for the community walk where you will be entertained in some of the cultural dance of the Batwa community. Return for dinner and overnight at Mahogany springs lodge/ Nkuringo Gorilla Camp / Chameleon Hill Lodge / Gorilla Mist camp/ Wagtail Eco Safari Camp.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure – Bwindi National Park
After your breakfast, move with your packed lunch, Mineral water, tracking gears among others, go for briefing about gorilla tracking. Thereafter, you will set off to the forest for these apes. The time taken searching these humble Giant apes is unpredictable, however, it ranges between 2-7 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla groups. Tracking goes through steep rocks climbing up and down before you find Gorillas Camouflaged in thick vegetation. However, the thrill of encountering these giant primates erases the poor memories you went through in trying to find them. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight as on day one.
Day 3: Cross to Rwanda, Volcanoes National Park -another home for mt. Gorillas
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the home of mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. We can take an evening excursion to the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, later check in Mountains Gorilla View lodge/ Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge / Virunga lodge / Le bambou Gorilla Lodge/ Kinigi Guest House for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: The Second Gorilla Trek – Volcanoes National Park
Breakfast is followed by another gorilla trek, this time in Rwanda, Volcanoes National Park. Time permitting, take a cultural walk to nearby villages or walk through Ruhengeri markets and interact with local people. Return for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 5: Return to Kampala / Kigali
After these extra-ordinary experiences we have to go back to Kampala (8hrs drive) or Kigali (2hrs drive). Have breakfast and hit the road to Kampala with lots of scenic viewing en route. You will have a stop in Mbarara for lunch to reach Kampala in the evening. Or we can transfer to Kigali for the city tour to genocide memorial museums, and later to the airport for your flight back home.
